Home Study First Trimester 2020
Greetings! Enjoy one of the following options for your independent study. The due date for this project is Wednesday, November 4th. Late work does not receive credit. Early submission is encouraged. Grades are determined on neatness, originality, attention to detail and design.
Blessings, Mrs. Radermacher
1. The paper dress was popular in the 1960”s. Design a paper dress from the handouts available in the art room and decorate it with colored pencil, paint, stamping, calligraphy or another suitable medium. The possibilities are endless. Boys can make a shirt or vest. You may use the large paper in the art room or use a roll of craft paper from the store. Add a signature of the artist you are honoring on your paper garment.
2. The composite two-dimensional sphere. This piece is a sphere divided into four parts, each quarter will be colored in by a different medium but of the same color. One fourth is done in watercolor paint, one in tempera paint, one in chalk pastel, and the last one in oil pastel. The piece needs to show the shading, shadows and light reflection that one would see on a marble or ball. The finished piece is 8x8 and I will have the paper on the paper table if you need it.
3. You have a message from an Artist. Choose any artist. On a 12 x 18 Piece of paper, create an original work of art in this artist’s style or recreate one of his or her pieces. On a second 12 x 18 write a postcard to you from this artist. Tell a few things about this person in your communication. Paper clip both papers to one another before handing it in.
